unquenchable wanderlust

I have unquenchable wanderlust syndrome!! Meaning, I am restless and anxious with the desire to see every wondrous treasure our wonderful world has offer!

For the very first TRAVEL TUESDAY I will be sharing how our very exciting upcoming adventure was concocted!

It all started over a cup of coffee… As many wonderful things do!

My husband, Ryan and I were thrilled that two of our friends were able to spend the weekend with us at my families house in Estes Park. We packed up some movies, games, snacks and headed up for what we thought was going to be simply a relaxing weekend away. It ended up being so much more!

It turns out that our friends, Ernest and Julia share the same unquenchable wanderlust syndrome that we do… So, it all started when we got our drinks at Kind Coffee, sat down and began to chat about dreams that we had for the future, things we wanted to accomplish and places we longed to visit… Somewhere in the middle of conversation Ryan said “So, when are we all going to Europe?” My ears perked and the parts deep inside me that are fueled by adventure were ignited instantly! We all started throwing out dates and “what if we…” statements…

To make a long story short, that simple question turned into many hours spent researching plane tickets, scrolling through Pinterest for inspiration, late night texts with Julia, sleepless evenings praying Ryan could get the time off work and ended with Julia and I looking at each other with giant smiles on our faces as we clicked the “purchase” button on Icelandair’s site!

WE ARE GOING TO NORTHERN EUROPE!!!!!

I have never been to any of the places we are planning to visit and I am beyond joyful that such an opportunity presented itself. I am also ecstatic that we will be able to have such an awesome opportunity to explore with our friends!! If this trip is anything like our weekend getaway to Estes Park, I can only imagine the dreams that will come true!

“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them our eyes open.”

Here is the photo I took at Barns & Noble just seconds after we purchased our plane tickets!!! It was such an exhilarating moment… I cannot describe the excitement I felt the second it became real! It will be awesome to travel with another young married couple! We will be traveling for 22 days and will visit Scotland, Wales, England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland (at least that is the plan for now… we are still in the process of getting all of the details worked out!!)

If you have any tips about any of these places or want to share any upcoming adventures you have planned… Please comment below and share this post with those who are also suffering from unquenchable wanderlust syndrome with the hope that it will inspire them to chase after adventure!
