ThirtyONEderful!!
Today marks 31 years of life for me! It’s been quite the adventure! I just wanted to share 31 things I have learned thus far! Obviously, I have a long way to go 🙂
- People are what matter. Create relationships that take time and love. Invest in people’s lives.
- Jesus saves souls
- You can’t take “things” with you when you die
- Breakfast is an acceptable meal at any time of day
- The math teachers were wrong when they said we’d need to know this cause we wouldn’t be able to carry a calculator with us everywhere we go…
- Bitterness and resentment are like a plague that eats away at your soul
- Being kind is so much easier than being cruel
- Being a mom is the most wonderful and most difficult thing I’ve ever done
- Explore new places as often as you can
- It’s great to plan and be smart, but if you always “wait until you’re ready” to do big things… you’ll always find a reason to keep waiting
- Other people are not put on this planet solely to make your day better
- Forgiveness isn’t about saying a cruel act was okay – it’s about releasing the power the pain and your offender has over you
- Everyone should see a therapist
- J.K. Rowling is a literary genius
- Chocolate chip cookies should be it’s own food group on the pyramid
- Specialty coffee is way better than Starbucks #coffeesnob
- Yoga pants are the greatest invention
- Relationships are about quality over quantity
- Be creative
- Get outside
- Even the people you disagree with are just human! You may not be able to understand why they think the way they do, but that doesn’t make them any less human or deserving of your kindness
- You can’t control anyone but yourself and how you react to something
- Listen listen listen. Ask people questions and care about the answer. Ask people WHY they think the way they do
- Be slow to anger, slow to speak, and quick to listen and forgive
- Paris is the most magical place in the world
- Sisters make the best friends
- Wearing socks to bed is weird
- Fall is the greatest season of the year
- Celebrate other people! Holidays and accomplishments… Make them know how excited you are for them and help them to feel special
- Print your photos! Don’t just let them live on hard drives and die in back of your closet. Print them and hang them up
- Pick your battles! If it won’t matter in a year… let it go
