Paris in Photographs – The city of lights and love

I have decided to start a new blog series titled, Paris in Photographs. In these posts I will be sharing about my travels to Paris along with some amazing photographs. I have spent a magical 4 weeks gallivanting around the city of lights with camera in hand… Soaking up the spectacular city that Paris truly is! That is not nearly enough time to explore this city to the fullest, but it’s a great start! During this short time I have become enchanted by all that Paris has to offer and I am excited to share it with you!

To introduce the series, I will share a little about how my recent trip came about.

Growing up I had always wanted to visit Paris. I’m not sure what it was… Perhaps is was the many times my sister and I would watch Passport to Paris over and over. It seemed like such an enchanting city! The summer of 2013 was the first time I visited Paris and I was smitten right away! I was intrigued by the cobble stone streets, side walk cafes, delicious desserts, lush gardens, and stunning architecture… The smell of fresh baked baguettes that fills the air while passing by a pâtisserie is intoxicating. I am amazed at what incredible food Paris has to offer. Even something as simple as picking up a fresh sandwich for 5 Europs at a boulangère is better than a lot of high quality meals in America. The food is one of my very favorite things about traveling! More about that later…

Anyways, early last year my dad surprised me with a two week long trip to Paris. We were sitting inside of The French Press in Aurora. Which happens to be one of the limited few good restaurants in town! He handed me a book about the markets in Paris and on the first page he has written that we were going to Paris! OH MY GOSH! I almost couldn’t contain my excitement!!

I soaked it in that I was going to be going to Paris again… with my favorite photographer and father… It was going to be the most amazing photo adventure trip, EVER!

After much debate we decided to go in the fall, which happens to be my very favorite season. I LOVE when the leaves begin to change colors that mimic a beautiful sunset. There is something insanely magical about fall time for me. I feel so inspired by it and look forward to it every year!

So, fall time + Paris was a recipe for an enchanting adventure!
