Taharaa Mountain Lodge Wedding – Beate & Eric

bride and groom at Lily Lake in Estes Park

Beate & Eric were supposed to get married in Norway (where Beate is from) in May and have their Colorado wedding celebration this month surrounded by their friends and family…. But then Covid happened and like many things this Spring and Summer, plans changed.

This wonderful couple dealt with this change with such grace and really focused on their marriage and not as much on what their wedding should have been… They were a true joy to work with.

Longs Peak is a magical sight to see!

Beate & Eric had an intimate reception on the deck at Taharaa and it was absolutely beautiful!

During their personal vows Beate told Eric something along the lines of, “I love you more and more… Sometimes I have to pinch myself.”

You could SEE their love for one another the entire evening. I told them a few times during their portraits that I loved the way they looked at each other… With such genuine love!

I asked Beate to share a little of their love story with me…

How did you and Eric Meet?

We both work for the same company, we met when Eric got an assignment in Norway, where I am from.

How did you get engaged?

We had just started running together, we were out on an early morning run, when Eric went down on one knee and proposed half way. It was perfect, and the spot where he proposed is now special for us.

What are some of your favorite things to do together?

Travel, hike, try new types of food, walk around our neighborhood in Houston, play games, cook together.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding?

Its not about the wedding itself, remember to enjoy your love, don’t get caught up in details, and enjoy the journey together! As we have seen this year, life happens and we cannot control everything.

Our marriage story became very special, as we had to re-schedule our Norwegian wedding plans, we went to the court house in Houston and got married in the beginning of the pandemic, and we were lucky to be able to celebrate our love in Estes Park with Erics close family and good friends in the midst of the pandemic!
