Taharaa Mountain Lodge Wedding

Taharaa-Mountain-Lodge-WeddingTaharaa Mountain Lodge Wedding – Stacy & Jeremy

Stacy and Jeremy were a true joy to work with! From the moment I first spoke to Stacy on the phone earlier this year, I knew I was going to love their wedding! She was so genuinely kind! I just couldn’t wait to meet her!! AND THEN it was way better than I imagined! They were both full of joyful nerves right before their first look… I love the genuinely raw emotion that comes about during such an intimate moment between two people so in love! The care and kindness they shared with one another and their friends and family the entire day is something that I truly admire! I am so excited to have been able to be apart of capturing such a magical wedding day for a truly wonderful couple!

Some lovely words from the bride…

How did you meet? Jeremy and I met the old fashioned way…at a bar! He was there with one of his friends and I was there with one of mine, and he saved me from a very annoying drunk guy who was hitting on me. Although he is normally pretty shy, he actually came right up to me and started talking to me, which his friends have always been surprised to hear!

How did you get engaged? Jeremy really did it up when he asked me to marry him. 🙂  I had been on a girls trip with my best friend, and Jeremy picked us up from the airport.  When I saw him, I wondered 1) why is he out of the car?; and 2) why is he wearing a suit? did he just come from a funeral?! He was standing there with a sign that said “Stacy D—,” like if you are picking someone up from the airport that you don’t know…ha ha, right? But then he pulled that sign away and the one beneath it said, “Stacy A—?” After that one, the third one said, “Will you marry me?” Then he got down on his knee with the ring in his hand!  So sweet and creative.
What made you decide on Estes Park for your wedding celebration? We live in Denver and our first-ever weekend trip together was to Estes Park, so it was a special place for us from the beginning.  We knew we wanted to get married during the off season (since we paid for the wedding ourselves), and we knew it would be too cold to plan to be outside, but we didn’t want to go all the way to Estes and be inside, either. We loved Taharaa Mountain Lodge because it allowed us to have kind of an in-between indoor/outdoor wedding. Plus, it is such a gorgeous venue, inside and out!!
Did you enjoy wedding planning? Wedding planning for us was kind of a crazy experience.  Shortly after we got engaged (but after we had signed our contract with Taharaa), I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have a double mastectomy followed by multiple reconstructive surgeries.  So that really interfered with our ability to have a normal wedding-planning process, because we were only able to do stuff when I was feeling decent.  The hardest part was at the end, when we were worried we wouldn’t have enough time to get everything done (doesn’t everyone think that?!). I have to say, though, that it was much easier than it could have been, because we actually agreed on most/all of the important details!!
