Estes Park Fall Wedding

Estes-Park-Fall-Wedding

Fall weddings in Estes Park are my favorite. I love the chill in the air and the beautiful light that lingers on the changing leaves.

Emilie and Chris had an intimate wedding ceremony at the Black Canyon Inn and the day couldn’t have been anymore beautiful! I loved watching Chris with his two sons before the wedding began… These are the smaller moments that I enjoy so much.

It was such a pleasure to meet these two and to be able to tell their wedding story…

From the bride…

How did you meet? Chris & I met at the gym! He was the manager of Lifestyle Family Fitness and I was a frequent gym-goer.

How did you get engaged? (I know we talked about this but would love to have it in your words) Emilie’s extended family is from Wisconsin and Minnesota. We usually take a trip there once a year to visit family and see all the beautiful spots along the North shore. We had a trip planned for October 2017 (Chris was planning on proposing, but Emilie had NO idea). Once we were in Minnesota, Chris and Emilie and her parents packed up the SUV for a day of exploring by Lake Superior. Chris had pulled Emilie’s dad aside during that day and asked his permission, to which he  was like YES of course! The day went on as planned, with Chris holding the engagement ring in his pocket. The final stop was at Split Rock Light House (where he was going to pop the question). We almost didn’t go because my feet were hurting from wearing the wrong shoes (lol) and we had to all pay a fee to get into the lighthouse, but Chris was so ADAMANT on doing it we were all like jeez ok haha! The spot he had planned on asking was on the water, on top of some rocks that had a perfect view. When we start walking out to it, there are about 100 people around which we didn’t expect.

Chris asked Emilie’s mom to take a picture of them, which she does, but Chris asks her to hold on and take another picture. Chris then got down on one knee and Emilie’s mom about tumbled down the rocks in to the lake from being surprised!! Emilie was shocked and crying and left Chris waiting because she forgot to say yes right away haha. Emilie said yes and we ended up getting great pictures of the whole thing because out in the crowd was a photographer taking pictures of the lake who saw that Chris was proposing and helped us out!

What made you pick Black Canyon Inn for your wedding? Beautiful scenery and elk!

What brought you to Colorado for your wedding? We took a vacation there a year prior and had a great time so it was a special place for us to get married.

What inspired you during wedding planning? The woods and mountains.

Did you take a honeymoon? If so, where? Not yet, we are planning one for early next year somewhere warm 🙂

Anything you want to share about your love story? We never believed in destiny until we met each other.
