Charming English Cotswolds
Chipping Campden is a charming small town in the Northern Cotswolds of England that dates back to the 14th century. It was absolutely magical.. Like something right out of a fairytale! The stone cottages that were covered with the most beautiful blooming flowers and vines were truly breathtaking. When we left Oxford we decided to take somewhat of a detour in the opposite direction from where we needed to be that evening in order to visit this adorable village – thanks to Pinterest for teasing us with such charming photos! We only had about an hour and half to wander the streets and we made the most of it!
This village felt like a ghost town… We hardly saw any people at all! Which made taking photos of the beautiful streets much easier without tons of tourists everywhere! However, we did meet one man. He was a an older gentleman in his 90’s that was on a walk and started up a conversation with us. He was just so nice and chatty! He shared with us how he helped to replace some of the roofs in the town and went on about his travels in the united states earlier in his life. It’s always so great talking with people when you’re in other countries… You never know who will you meet and what stories they will have to share. He even started talking to us about American country music and (I kid you not) pulled out a small notebook from his jacket pocket that had his favorite songs with the years they came out written down. It just made my heart melt!
Enjoy some images from our short walk along the streets of this charming village…
